Fountain Park Family Restaurant - Sheboygan, Wisconsin

 

We went to Fountain Park Family Restaurant on the first morning of our trip. From the outside on the parking lot side of this building it looks like a bar that has food but when you enter you realize that this is a nice family restaurant. 

The staff was very friendly and attentive to the customers, one waitress got us coffee and another waiter came in and took our order.

Breakfast is a meal that Dragon doesn't eat but Faerie does so only she had food, he had only coffee. The coffee was good but Faerie ordered a Veggie Benedict, this is a vegetarian breakfast of poached eggs, spinach, tomatoes and english muffin smothered in hollandaise sauce. This was a very good entree not a fantastic meal but good.

We would go again if we were to return to the Sheboygan area.

This is a new twist on the corner bar. This small building on the corner of  North 8th Street and Michigan Avenue in Sheboygan, Wisconsin looks very unassuming but after the accordion windows open you can see a beautiful old building with original carved bar and copper radiators and ceilings through out. That is just the beginning of the Urbane experience.

We entered this gorgeous building and were immediately greeted by staff.  We had our menus and had put in our drink order within a matter of minutes of sitting at our tables. The drink menu was extensive containing : wine, beer, margarites, mojitos, martinis, hot drinks and ice cream drinks,

The food menu is also unique as well. There is bar food with a twist and sophisticated entrees for the most sensitive of palates.

We  started  with a Artichoke Dip served with crostini,  a Bud Light for The Dragon and a Blueberry Mojito for The Faerie. We went on to our entrees with a Chicken Wrap with Rosemary Fries ( The Dragon) and a Salmon Club sandwich with the Rosemary Fries (The Faerie), there is also the option of vegetables with ranch dip with your sandwich, The Dragon had a Guinness Draught and the Faerie had a mint chocolate martini with our entrees.

We didn't have any dessert but that was our choice but we did each have a shot of  Apple Pie and The Faerie had a Grasshopper for a dessert cocktail. We ended the night with an Urbane Dream to go.

The food was very, very good, Everything was fresh and well seasoned. The drinks were smoothed and perfectly blended. The Faerie had one complaint that was there was a little too much Creme de Menthe in her martini that actually caused it to actually burned, This was our only complaint.

Urbane's  can be a little financially restrictive. The food is well priced but the drink are a little more pricey but well worth it.
